What is component 4e?
Component 4e pertains to continued professional development. Teachers who continue their education while in the field improve their practice and gain knowledge to help colleagues improve. Continual education keeps teachers up to date on the newest content information, pedagogical styles, and tech tools to help their students learn.
Why do you need it?
As teachers continue their education they learn new skills to teach effectively. Ideally, teachers share these new skills and information with their colleagues to help them improve as well. Professional development courses and workshops provide opportunities to network and to expand an educator's PLN. Growth is vital to a teacher's effectiveness because content, pedagogy, and technology are constantly evolving. Staying informed helps teachers help students.
