What is component 3a?
Domain 3a pertains to teacher communication with students. Communication with students includes delivery of content material, directions and procedures, and personal discussion. It is an educator's duty to use clear language in all form of communication to ensure student understanding.
Why do you need it?
By using clearly oral and written language teachers can help students understand complex concepts. If teachers use a variety of language while communicating, they can help improve student vocabulary.

- using a vast vocabulary
- explaining concepts using examples students can relate to
- explaining content in multiple was so all students understand
